I am certainly not the only blogger to have noticed Christian Louboutin’s heavily art historical fall 2011 collection. But as an art history blogger, I feel obliged to share the astounding new portraits Louboutin put together with photographer Peter Lippman. The photos are styled quite closely to a number of famous painted portraits, with a few updates and alterations thrown in. I particularly like Louboutin’s version of Zurburán.
